This game contains two puzzles: one nine-piece puzzle and the other a twenty-piece puzzle, and 44 cards. There are four different flashcards groups.
Group 1: Note names.
Group 2: Harmonic intervals of 2nd and 3rds.
Group 3: Melodic intervals of 2nds and 3rds
Group 4: Rhythm made up of minims, crotchets and quavers (half, quarter and eighth notes)
Description
This game contains two puzzles: one nine-piece puzzle and the other a twenty-piece puzzle, and 44 cards. There are four different flashcards groups.
Group 1: Note names.
Group 2: Harmonic intervals of 2nd and 3rds.
Group 3: Melodic intervals of 2nds and 3rds
Group 4: Rhythm made up of minims, crotchets and quavers (half, quarter and eighth notes)
Cut out the puzzle pieces and the flash card. Decide what size puzzle you are going to use.
Show one flash card to your student. If it shows one note, if your student correctly plays the note on the instrument, they get a piece of the puzzle.If it is a harmonic interval flash card, they are to say whether the notes are a 2nd and 3rd (step or skip) apart.
If it is a melodic interval flash card, they can either say whether the note moves up or down and/or the distance between them. If it’s a rhythm, they are to correctly clap the rhythm before getting a puzzle piece.
