The Steps and Skips interval flashcards is a set of 28 flashcards, that will help your students become more confident sight-readers by recognising intervals of unisons to thirds.

These Steps and Skips interval flashcards are suitable for younger students at the start of their musical journey.  Unisons  are described as “sames”, 2nds as “steps”, and 3rds as “skips”.

Each flashcard shows a set of two notes on a stave, and the student must identify the interval.  There is no clef on the staves, so you can use the cards for any instrument. There are both melodic and harmonic intervals.

Melodic and harmonic intervals are in different colours to help you identify them and, if you want, focus on one type.

How To Use

One game to play with the Steps and Skips Interval Flashcards is to see how quickly your students can sort them into the correct categories. You can also time them and repeat the activity a couple of weeks later to track progress.
