These students will benefit greatly from this visual resource where they can see how the keys align with spaces and lines of the stave. The pack includes 4 different layouts that can be used on screen or your can print a hard copy.
Start with the VERTICAL stave layout – this displays the keyboard left to right which is familiar to students. Show them how the note names align with each line and space stepping from left to right.
Then move onto the HORIZONTAL stave layout to help conceptualise keyboard left/right with stave down/up.
Use buttons, counters or pompoms as notes when using hard copy, or if using online annotate circles on the screen for the note heads.
Suitable for beginner pianists of all ages.

I haven’t had an opportunity to use this with students yet as it’s the summer holidays, but it looks as if it will be very useful. I have in mind a student who is approaching Grade 1 and is struggling with bass clef reading – as so many students do – and I’m pretty sure this will help her. It’s very clear. An excellent idea.
I will be using this in my college elective Introduction to piano course to help them see the way the notes on the keyboard relate to the notes on the staff. Thank you for this.
