‘Plain Sailing’ from Rosamund Conrad’s Delightfully Easy Piano Duets: Book 2
A beautiful piano duet for beginners and intermediate players with only three notes in the primo part. Ideal for giving absolute beginners a satisfying sense of what it is to make music.
Piano Duet for Beginners
Plain Sailing is one of my personal favourites – the primo part only has three notes but when put together, it sounds sublime!”
– Lorraine Liyanage, Director of SE22 Music School
This duet was composed for a young student who was finding note reading a challenge and had only three notes comfortably under her belt. Her mother asked for a duet they could play together, and Plain Sailing was the result. As the hands are in unison, giving them the option to play with only one hand at first, it is perfect for people who have just been introduced to note reading. They find they can sit and play through it straight away and make a beautiful sound. Great for confidence building right from the start!
