Description

Use these free Snowy Penguin cards to improve note reading skills in the bass and treble clef.

Includes 26 note-on-the-stave cards, and 26 note name cards.

For each game, select a suitable range of note cards for the student. Print and cut out the cards – laminate for extra durability if required.

There are many ways the cards could be used – here are a few ideas:

Matching Cards

Simply match the red penguin note cards with the green penguin note name cards.

Matching Pairs

Place the cards upside down on a surface.  Take turns to turn over two cards.  If the cards match, keep them.  If they don’t match, replace them upside down on the surface.  Keep going until all of the cards are matched.  The player with the greatest number of matched cards is the winner!

Flashcards

Show the red penguin cards, one by one, to your student and ask them to name the note.

Hide and seek cards

Hide the red penguin cards around the room.  Divide the green cards between your students.  Ask the students to find the red penguin cards to match their green penguin cards.  The first player to find all of their matching cards is the winner!
