Barbara Arens studied Harpsichord and Organ at the Mozarteum in Salzburg as well as Baroque Performance Practice under Nikolaus Harnoncourt. After a concert career mainly as a harpsichordist, she went back to the piano, revelling in its dynamic palette! Now she writes piano music inspired by her pupils, knowing what they like to play and what lies well in their hands; and has now also written collections for violin, viola, cello, flute, oboe, cor anglais, bassoon, alto sax, horn, and voice. Her works appear on the exam syllabuses of ABRSM, Trinity College London, MTB, RIAM, etc.
