Hi, my name is Ruth Alberici and I am the Co-Founder, Owner and Director of My Music Resource.  I am also a piano teacher who runs a busy teaching studio in North London and a mum to two children.

I graduated from university with a BA (Joint Hons) in French and Spanish, then qualified as a management accountant whilst working for a multi-national confectionery company.  I spent 17 years with the company, eventually specialising in Commercial Finance where I created user-friendly models to help analyse and improve business performance.

In 2013, I decided upon a career change. Music had always been my passion and, as a keen pianist, I had always dreamt of becoming a piano teacher. I decided to follow my dream and started teaching in 2015. Two years later, I graduated from the Piano Teachers’ Course (PTC) and gained the ABRSM CME. 

From early on in my teaching career, the importance of using high quality, relevant teaching materials. was clear. There were plenty of excellent resources available online – blogs, teaching videos, games, worksheets – but, as I trawled through the internet searching for resources, information overload would often set in. So, I ended up creating my own worksheets and educational yet fun games to use in lessons and shared these with other piano teachers, 

Linked to this, in 2020, I came up with the idea of creating an accessible and innovative platform where music educators could open their own store and sell, or share for free, their resources to other music teachers. 

This idea was realised in October 2020 when My Music Resource was launched!
