Description

This activity follows the journey of Bear, as he tries to find a way to express the lovely things about his mum in music.

Aimed at beginner musicians, the story considers the music of three animals with very different mums.

The student is encouraged to think about how musical elements can be used to express different characteristics in three short compositions.  Finally, the student can use what they have learned to compose a fourth piece, reflecting the character of their own mother.

  • A story-based approach to composition
  • 4 four-bar compositions using the grand staff
  • Ideal for Mother’s Day, Valentines Day or any other time of year!
  • The final composition can be given to the students mother as a gift

This is the alto clef version of the resource.   Treble clef and grand staff versions are available as a separate resources.
