Description
Pumpkin Puzzle is a music game that contains two puzzles—one nine-piece puzzle and the other twenty-piece puzzle—and 44 cards. There are four different flashcard groups.
The groups are as follows:
1: Note names.
2: Harmonic intervals of 2nd and 3rds.
3: Melodic intervals of 2nds and 3rds
4: Rhythm made up of minims, crotchets and quavers (half, quarter and eighth notes)
How to Play
Cut out the pumpkin puzzle pieces and the flash card. Decide what size puzzle you will use.
Show one flash card to your student. If it shows a note and your student correctly plays the note on the instrument, they get a piece of the puzzle. For a harmonic interval flash card, they say whether the notes are a 2nd and 3rd (step or skip) apart.
If it is a melodic interval flash card, they can either say whether the note moves up or down and/or the distance between them. For a rhythm, they are to correctly clap the rhythm before getting a puzzle piece.
